City of St. Petersburg Parks and Recreation 3D Models

The mission of the City of St. Petersburg Parks and Recreation is to preserve, protect, maintain and enhance the city's park lands and recreational facilities, engaging people in leisure activities that contribute to their quality of life. A number of archaeological and heritage sites are located on these lands, and as part of a preservation and management effort, these properties are being mapped and documented using the latest in 3D survey technologies. Artifacts from these sites or representative of those from the greater Tampa Bay area are also being captured in high resolution 3D, bringing the past to life in shareable and immersive ways. The 3D models and other materials in this collection represent archaeological artifacts, landscape cartographic information, and visitor experience details for use in the classroom, on the web, and at the parks to improve interpretation of these important lands. This public archaeology project aims to increase awareness and appreciation for the City’s cultural heritage.
