Natchez Trace Parkway 3D Models
This project is a collaboration between the University of South Florida and the National Park Service. It aims to document the only two remaining historic structures associated with the Old Natchez Trace. These structures, Mount Locust and the John Gordon House are part of the Natchez Trace Parkway. The parkway stretches from Natchez, Mississippi, through northwest Alabama and ends near Nashville, Tennessee.
The project involves creating 3D models, cartographic drawings, architectural models, and renderings that will be used to produce interpretive media. This media will help engage and educate the public and guide treatment and management decisions. Mount Locust was built between 1777 and 1780, just north of Natchez, Mississippi. The Gordon House was built in 1818 by John and Dolly Cross Gordon. It is located near the Duck River in Tennessee.
