Meteorites are rocks from space that have landed on the Earth's surface. The meteorites in this collection are real pieces of asteroids or comets, and give us clues to the origin and history of the solar system.

The cratered surface of the Moon shows evidence of the impact of meteorites. This collection also contains examples of rocks which are identical to those found on the Moon.

The extinction of the dinosaurs 65 million years ago may have been caused by an asteroid impact. The dinosaur fossils in this collection are from just before this extinction.
